Caersws

A small village in Powys, between Newtown and Machynlleth on the main Aberystwyth-Birmingham train line, Caersws is home to many amenities, including a thriving primary school, and a Welsh Premier League football team, known as the Bluebirds.

The green villages project here has helped organise a visit by an energy efficiency expert to the main community buildings, which has already resulted in identification of large savings for the school. As more income becomes available to the project through the landfill tax credit and windfarm community payments, we hope to be able to improve on the energy efficiency levels as well as investigate installation of renewable energy devices on community buildings.
